Is it risky to install a google chrome extension?

on adblock chromium , it said this extension needed to update and it informed me that this extension can ; access my data on all my visited websites or on all websites and ; have access to all my browsing history.

is this dangerous ? or what would this mean that a browser extension could access this information ?

i think i got this extension from the google chrome extension gallery .Is it risky to install a google chrome extension?
Good point,

Alot off people just install anything that pops on any window.

About Google Chrome ext, you dont have to worry.

All your searches are kept by the search engines anyway, attached to that historie is your IP.

They do keep your browsing history, but so does AOL, YAHOO, BING, etcIs it risky to install a google chrome extension?
AdBlock is a safe Chrome extension, assuming you did get it from Chrome's extension gallery. When you installed it, it already displayed that it has access to your info, and you chose to install it. This is just an update. If you are really worried about it, uninstall. But it's really no big deal.
