ok i was creating a hello world app for chrome , i did everything that this website says (http://code.google.com/chrome/extensions鈥?but i got a error saying manfest file is missing or unreadable ? how i can fix it ( i have placed manifest.json fle there with the same code that website says ) ?Google chrome app developement problem?

Actually there is something else you can tell us: what OS you are working on.
Also what text editor you are using. That last is VERY important. A lot of editors, especially on Windows, don't default to the text formats a configuration file like this would read. They insist on putting special formatting codes in which will make it prettier for us to look at. And confuse programs. If your text file is not in the right format then having all the correct information won't do you any good.
